When you-a mage is facing a warlock, remember that though warlocks are tough, they are not unconquerable. You will have the odds-on if you equip yourself with PvP trinket and dispose curses effectively. Utilize Fire Ward on a destruction warlock or another who prefers Immolate.
However, Fire mage is not competitive with a lock of Nether Protection owning to the fire damage's failure in damaging the locks. In converse, a frost mage with Frozen Core will have the upper hand on a destruction lock. On the whole whether you will beat a lock depends largely on the pet he calls out.
Succubus are commonly have lower health reserve. So once you take down the Succubus, the lock is pet-less. Although an affliction lock cares little about the Succubus, erasing the Seduce will definitely reduce your pressure. You can kill the Succubus when you make the lock focus his attention mainly on you. If the Seduce is of basic level, then you could attract her into the battleground during your fight with the lock. Be cautious with the Seduce and use your PvP trinket to handle the first two.
If you are not so lucky and encounter a warlock starting with Voidwalker, you should be more cautious. The lock is very likely to be a Demonology with Master Summoner and Fel Domination. The Voidwalker is merely used as a sacrifice for shielding. Another pet would be called out when the lock casted Fel Domination. At this moment, what you should do is to Polymorph him when Voidwalker is being sacrificed.

In melee battle, Felguard is ineffectual. To concentrate on warlock, you should stay out of Felguard's range and employ Ice Armor, Nova, or chill effects on it. On the whole, Frost mages are more appropriate for fighting warlocks. Their Frozen Core is the rival of Fire, which is the main spell of locks. In addition, they have no way to cope with your Frost Tree.
