The Zerg race, even from the first StarCraft, is known for its diverse units specialized in massive raids. This Zerg build orders guide will maximize the race's potential by optimizing early game harvesting and investing on mid to late game attacks. While some would stay with early Zergling rushes, this is not effective especially on advanced opponents. If a rush attack fails, you will just be in a risky position.
First, you must create 10 Drones for gathering minerals. Then, build an Overlord right away, followed by another 3 Drones. Now use all your miners to reach 200 minerals and take a drone to make a Spawning Pool. While the Spawning Pool is being created, continue mining and make an Extractor. Just keep on producing Drones, while creating Overlords for supply. Assign 3 Drones to get gas from the Extractor. Make a Baneling nest and create some Banelings to defend from possible attacks.
When the Spawning Pool is up, raise an army of Zerglings for basic defense and scouting. Once you have 100 gas, do the Speed Upgrade to boost your Zerglings. Also get the Queen as soon as possible. While upgrading speed, use some of your Zerglings to scout possible enemy expansions.
Once the Speed Upgrade is done, send your Zerglings to an enemy base or expansion. They will die out but you can maximize the attack by ignoring the army. Head straight to the builders/miners and kill as many units as you can. This will cripple your enemies' economy and cause them delay. After following the Zerg build orders and strategy to this step, you are already free to create your strong army.
